The ribbons were coming fast and furious today and then it rained again….

Sun! No Rain! Everyone showed today except for Shea and Hannah.  We compressed Thursday and Friday’s show schedule into one day.

Kudos to Robin who started training at 7am and finished with the last rider at 7pm!

Special thanks to Christen who stayed up late and got up early to braid our horses.

We scored some ribbons today a follows:

Harpur riding Roderrick in Modified Children’s Hunter was 2nd, 1st, 2nd over fences and she did not do the flat, but was Reserve Champion, missing Champion by 1 point.

Christen rode in the Adult Equitation 18-35 and placed 5th and 7th over fences.

We all awoke to the sound of rain, lots and lots of rain.  HITS was a mud bath. Then the news - there was so much water HITS Canceled all of the classes for today.  Canceled!!  A horse show canceling a day of classes - most of us had never experienced that.

Mother Nature teased us all morning…it would rain, then clear and some of us would head out to school and then it would pour all over again.

Finally around 2pm, the sun came out and we were able to actually do a ticketed warm-up.

Shea/Schnip walking Harpur/Huey to the warm-up ring.

Monster puddles were in all the rings - But Huey is a mudder!

Cody arrived with his dirt bike….

Tomorrow, Friday, we all have a busy day - Classes from Thursday and Friday are being run together, but the weather is suppose to be perfect!
How did we end the day that started awful - by riding a cow of course!

Emma was the first to show today in the jumper ring as a warm up.

Did I mention the rain?

We ended the day at the El Rancho Mexican Restaurant for a team Dinner - all 19 of us! I forgot my camera, but I’m sure there are plenty of photos on facebook.

We arrived at HITS in Saugerties on Tuesday and quickly found our stalls at Tent #4.  Surprise! HITS has built new wood stalls - brand new and also added new tents.  The stalls are big and there is a lot more air movement.

You’ll never see it this clean again!  This is going to be a small show as Tents 1,2, and 3 are empty.  We’ve never seen those tents empty before.

The horses were unloaded, fed and bedded and we went riding!

We came back to the barn and it began to rain….at first we thought how nice some rain and then the puddles started to grow..

We all scrambled to find our rain gear - below is Paige with her rain gear on and

and Emma drying off with Connor looking on.

and then it started to really rain and the wind started to blow the tent and for a moment we thought the whole tent might blow over…
